its a Junki Takegami filler designed to look real, but Junki screwed up and made trash as he always does...
the lord of filth brought back Hidan for his offshoot, which is 1000% NONCANON because HIDAN CANNOT DIE, he's sealed in a ton of pieces in the Nara Clan's forrest

It was technically a movie to celebrate 500 episodes of Naruto the series. Timeline was it's said it would have occurred post Pain, Pre-Five Kage Summit or War arc.

it's a filler arc by Junki Takegami, wherein Junki makes a junk episode, again, and its in direct violation of the story, because he brings Hidan out as a reanimation, when Hidan isn't dead... something Masashi Kishimoto HATES AND DESPISES about the god of filth, lord of trash Junki Takegami, whos own mother named him Junki, for that is what he is.

its the least cannon filler though, Hidan isn't dead... and its because of his 199 fillers that Masashi Kishimoto pulled out from the series altogether...
Boruto is instead written by Ukyo Kodachi... who gained the rights to it under the single stipulation that Junki wouldn't be allowed to produce fillers of its animation...
But Perriot studios still creates tons of fillers... its their thing... Junki just isn't writing them in Boruto... but he's advising the team that IS writing them... stupid loophole... he may as well be still writing his filth.
